Scottish Rite Educational Event

"Come One, Come All - It Is Time To Begin!"
Scottish Rite Education - Starting February 5th, 2015

The quest for "More Light' is the predominant reason brothers continued their Masonic Journey and joined the Ancient and Accepted Scottish Rite.  To assist you in this quest, the Valley of Orlando is starting a monthly VMAP Educational Series.  It will start on first Thursday of the month of February, the  5th to be exact, and continue on the first Thursday of every month following.  A light dinner will be available at 6 PM, followed by the "Educational Program" for the evening presented by Harry V. Eisenberg, 32° KCCH (College of The Consistory Graduate), Ill Hank Link 33° and Brother Peter Remington 32°.

The first Thursday in the months of March, June and September will offer a special program starting with dinner at 6 PM followed by an overview of a selected degree, and the exemplification of that degree, with props, costumes, lights and sound.  Details for these special degree events will be shared in future eNews editions.

My brothers you asked for this, now please make time to participate and grow your knowledge of Freemasonry through the Scottish Rite, and better understand the lessons contained therein, that will assist you in your quest for "More Light" in Masonry.  I promise you  this will be an event not to miss, but your support is what will make it a success.  I hope each of you, along with many others, will participate in this educational series.  See you at the Scottish Rite Masonic Center at 1485 Grand Rd in Winter Park on the first Thursday of the month at 6 PM for a light dinner.

In order for us to have plenty of food for everyone please let us know if you're coming by calling the Center at 407-657-4550 or email osrb@juno.com.

"People forget what you say, and forget what you do, but forever remember how you made them feel!"

Masonic Rings Orlando

If you're looking to purchase Masonic rings it probably means you're a member of the Freemasons. A group that can trace itself historically back to June 24th, 1717 when four London lodges met to establish the Grand Lodge of England, but some state that the masons have ties going all the way back to Ancient Egypt.

The tools represented in the Masons symbol are working tools (the square, level, plumb, etc.) which remind members of the tenets of the craft. Members today are said to be of the 'craft.' Freemasonry exists in many parts of the globe as a basically social club with many levels of status for the members to work their way through. When a member has reached a higher degree there is a ceremony to officially confer the new ranking.

Stonemason's tools represented in the Masonic symbol are used to stand for basic virtues. The three overriding Masonic principles are brotherly love, relief, and truth. Most will wear rings bearing the symbol of the Masons with other certain attributes like background colors to indicate that they are a Mason and come from a specific lodge or that you have attained a specific degree of status within the Masons.

Some rings can be quite expensive for those who have gained a higher degree within the Masons. Most members' rings run an average of a hundred plus dollars. They are quite bold in statement, with a wide band and some containing gemstones and gold or silver. The more averaged priced ring will simply be the steel or brass with the Masonic emblem on a colored background. A lot of ring manufacturers pride themselves on being able to offer these rings handcrafted one at a time, by Masons for Masons.
