3 Tips for Better Time Management + Focus

Consider the idea that freedom can only be born out of a certain structure. Think of how in yoga poses, when the foundation is properly placed, we then feel free to fly high and expansively. So it is with time, finances, and business. Creating a strong foundation, a great structure, will help us achieve the kind of freedom with time, money, and creative expression we seek.

If you were told in the past that multi-tasking is a great skill to have, here is what science has already proven to us: Anytime we shift our focus from a task at hand, to go on to another task, we not only miss the five minutes away from what we were doing, but we actually miss anywhere between 11 and 30 minutes to go back to what we were doing before we got distracted. In other words, if you are writing your blog, and you are in the zone, focused, but then decide to stop to check that email that just came in, here is what is actually happening. You interrupted your focus (your “flow”) and you, likely, did that without having allocated sufficient time to actually address what that email may be requiring of you. In other words, you stopped, looked at it, perhaps flagged it or marked it as unread, and then went back to your blog. But, to actually get back to your focus takes another 11–30 minutes. If you do this repeatedly throughout the day, you can imagine how much time these “small” interruptions can end up costing you. Stay focused, give yourself two-hour blocks to complete your tasks, and then in between tasks, check emails, social media, and your laundry.

What is Power Yoga?

What is Power Yoga?

Power Yoga, taking from its Hatha Yoga roots, consists of both a standing and sitting sequences of movements linking the usage of physical movement, breath-work or pranayama and meditation. Power Yoga strikes a balance between the originating values of yoga found in India and the North American societally driven demands for physical exercise.

Power Yoga is often practiced in a hot room held at a temperature approximate to 105 °F or 40.6 °C.

Power Yoga has been argued to be the fundamental style of Hatha yoga that allowed for cultural acceptance of yoga in North America. According to the North American Studio Alliance, 30 million people are practicing yoga in the United States of America.

Select a Quality Yoga Mat

SELECTING A GOOD YOGA MAT

407.203.6866

Fifteen years ago, there was only one basic type of yoga mat — made of PVC and noted for its stickiness — and your only choice was whether to buy purple or blue. Now, there’s a yoga mat to suit every priority and preference. (Read more at:http://inspirityogastudio.com/selecting-a-good-yoga-mat/)

Beyond a color and pattern that make your heart go pitter-patter, your yoga mat needs to keep you stable in your poses; and it needs to be storable and portable, yet comfy and cushy. You may also want your mat to be environmentally friendly. These aspects of your mat’s personality are all affected by how the mat is made: how thick it is, what it’s made of, and its surface texture. (Read more at:http://inspirityogastudio.com/selecting-a-good-yoga-mat/)

Use this guide to help you find a yoga mat you can be blissfully happy with — one that suits your practice, priorities, lifestyle, values and budget. No matter what the stores tell you, that’s the best yoga mat for you! (Read more at:http://inspirityogastudio.com/selecting-a-good-yoga-mat/)

Reasons to do Yoga

8 Amazing Reasons to do Yoga!!
1. Flexibility: No, you won’t be forced into contortionist positions. The heat will allow you to safely reach new levels of personal flexibility in beginner’s postures, which is therapeutic for your body (see number seven). Plus, let’s be honest, being flexible is cool. You’ll be busting out Standing Bow Pose at your next party.

2. Strength: Your own body is your gym. This yoga is low impact and uses muscles you didn’t know you had—trying standing in a wide lunge for Triangle pose on carpet and not sliding! Also, a prime focus is on spine strength, which is key to a long healthy life!

3. Breath: The definition of Hatha Yoga asana is: stillness in a posture while breathing normally. With the added element of the heat, you won’t make it far if you don’t breathe deeply! If there is no breathing, there is no yoga. It won’t take long before you learn to breathe in a full and controlled manner.

4. Cardio: Your heart can work the same way doing yoga postures in a heated room as it does when running a mile, and you never even leave your mat. Particularly in postures when you are balancing and contracting your muscles at the same time. A 90-minute class can burn up to 1,000 calories. The way you stretch and compress your internal organs and glands also stimulates metabolism so you are burning calories quicker outside the room as well.

5. Detox: The heated room helps you to stretch more and get your cardio, but it also helps you sweat. The postures themselves are detoxifying for your muscles, organs, and glands and sweating furthers that.

6. Focus: Most Hot Yoga classes consist of the same 26 postures and two breathing exercises—and if not, there is almost always a dialed routine. The routine helps you to advance your practice through repetition. As you advance, you gain tremendous focus and determination. The ability to focus carries over to your daily life. When you can focus on the task at hand, you’ll excel and you can enjoy it more.

7. Healing: The primary purpose of this yoga is therapy. With a regular practice, these postures can help to heal old injuries and also prevent them in the future. This is especially true for, but not limited to, back pain. Don’t skip the postures that are slightly uncomfortable. Hot Yoga is also known to reduce symptoms of conditions and illnesses including diabetes, asthma, high blood pressure, depression, arthritis and obesity.

More on Hot Yoga!

More on Hot Yoga!!

How to prepare for hot yoga!

The key to enjoying hot yoga is to go in prepared. Be super aware of your own health, it’s important to be well-hydrated before taking a hot yoga class. Drink plenty of water throughout the day in anticipation of your hot yoga session. Remember, yoga isn’t competitive, everyone should take a class at their own pace. There’s no ego in yoga, so you just do what you’re capable of.

Also, look to your instructor for help not to go beyond your end point, do not forget you’re losing the ability to know where your edge is... so you’re artificially stretching the muscle.

Hot yoga is safe and gentle for everyone from children to seniors.

Hot yoga's benefits by inspirityogastudio.com

Hot yoga's benefits

Those who are devoted to the practice say hot yoga has all kinds of benefits. The one that’s touted most often is detoxification: heavy sweating is said to help flush toxins from the skin.

The heat allows you to go a little more deeply and safely into the postures. By really warming up the muscles and you can really approach the postures from a safe place.

According to experts, working in a heated room also elevates the heart rate, which makes the body work harder.

It’s really for people who want a more intense workout—those who want to develop strength, flexibility and tone along with a cardiovascular workout. By working in heat helps the body relax, improves breathing (which helps conditions like asthma) and focuses the mind, which develops better mental concentration.
